Brian Forbus

2015 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year

Since 2002, he has been a certified physician assistant at Coastal Orthopedics in the Conway/Myrtle Beach area.

He has been a member of CCU’s Alumni Association Board of Directors for 11 years, serving the last six as president of the executive committee. As president, he speaks each year at CCU’s commencement ceremonies to welcome the newest members of the alumni body. In addition, he spearheaded the fundraising efforts for the new Pi Kappa Phi patio at the recently renovated Atheneum Hall Alumni Center.

Forbus has been a local resident for the last 25 years and is a graduate of Socastee High School. His educational background includes earning a bachelor’s in physician assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and a master’s in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

He is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.‌
