Karl G. Kempf
Karl G. Kempf was born in 1907 in Fremont, Mich. He is a graduate of both the University of Michigan and the Harvard Business School. Prior to retirement, he was an executive with the Thomas Betts Corporation of New Jersey, manufacturers of electrical and electronic fittings. Kempf developed an interest in Coastal Carolina University upon his retirement to Myrtle Beach more than 50 years ago, and has been a loyal patron and supporter of college growth and development.
Kempf was named an honorary founder of Coastal Carolina University in 1988.
