Laura Suggs

Laura Suggs earned both her Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Her career in higher education began at Vanderbilt where she worked in disability services. Later in her career, she went back to Disability Services at Horry Georgetown Technical College. She also worked in housing at Washington University in St. Louis and credits this with giving her a solid background in student life. She worked in pre-professional advising at the University of South Carolina and academic advising at College of Charleston. Prior to the CMC College of Health and Human Performance opening in fall 2022, she advised at Coastal in the Edwards College from 2019-2022.
Laura grew up in Enfield, CT, but she spent all of her adult life living in the south. Along with her husband, who is a Coastal grad, and their Boston Terrier, Oliver, she loves living at the beach. She enjoys travel, baking and Vanderbilt sports. Laura tries to help her students live these words by Thoreau: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined.”
