Kristen Fleckenstein is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics in the English Department at Coastal Carolina University. She obtained a Ph.D. in Linguistics and a graduate certificate in Women's & Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington, as well as a BA in English from Lubbock Christian University. Her research interests focus broadly on discourse markers, the discursive construction of identity - especially as concerned with marginalized identities - and discourse strategies in digitally mediated spaces.
