Biography

Marcia McCreary is a Lecturer for the Department of English at Coastal Carolina University where she teaches Freshman Composition courses ENGL 101 and 102. She received her B.A. from Hiram College in Humanities and Fine Arts with a Writing focus and her M.A. in English from Youngstown State University. In addition, she received a Teaching Certificate from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to teaching at CCU, she taught courses at the college and high school levels in English Composition, English Literature, American Literature and Diversity, Contemporary Literature, T.V. Production, and Creative Writing. She also served as Writing Center Director at Cuyahoga Community College, and prior to her teaching career was a News Correspondent and Advertising Executive.  Her research interests are dedicated to the teaching of writing and cultivating an authentic writer’s voice.
