Biography
Dr. Greg Tsalikis has been involved in a variety of musical pursuits as a performer, educator, and arranger. Originally from Annapolis Maryland, Dr. Tsalikis has enjoyed the opportunity to study an extensive range of percussive and musical experiences ranging from orchestral and chamber, to world music and the marching arts.
His experiences include performing with multiple orchestras across the United States as a percussionist and timpanist, as well as a soloist on several continents. In the rudimental percussionist activity, Greg has arranged and taught for drum corps in both the Drum Corps International and Drum Corps Associates organizations. With experience as a Texas high school percussion director, he has also addressed the topic of secondary education percussion pedagogy, delivering presentations on the topic at the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy.
Dr. Tsalikis has earned degrees from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Rice University, and Texas Tech University, studying with Dean Gronemeier, Alex Stopa, Tim Jones, Richard Brown, Lisa Rogers and Alan Shinn. Currently, he is thrilled to serve as a Teaching Associate of Percussion at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina, where he lives with his Rottweiler, Cleo.
