The Office of Admissions & Merit Awards is responsible for marketing the University to its many student constituent groups and processing their applications to enroll new and returning students who seek to attend a comprehensive liberal arts institution.  Among its many student groups, the Office of Admissions & Merit Awards recruits and enrolls traditional freshman, transfer, readmit, non-traditional, and graduate students.

The Office of Admissions & Merit Awards seeks to enroll a talented student body from a variety of ethnic, economic and geographic backgrounds.  Among its functions, the Office of Admissions & Merit Awards identifies prospective student markets, develops recruitment literature and methods of outreach to these markets, implements recruitment outreach and counseling to identified markets, receives and processes admissions applications electronically, evaluates application files and makes admissions decisions, corresponds with accepted applicants through matriculation, performs initial transfer assessment for academic credit, finalizes matriculant files for the Registrar, and evaluates residency status for all new and readmitted students.
