Alumni Giving

Even with the larger endowment we envision, giving by alumni remains vital year in and year out to ensure the excellence of our programs and to provide the best learning environment for our students. Annual giving provides essential funding each year to support current needs in the classroom, on the field, in the studio and on the stage. Annual giving by alumni has an immediate impact on our students’ learning experience and ensures the excellence we all expect from our programs.

CCU is proud of its 32,000-plus alumni who are making an impact in Horry County, in South Carolina and around the world. When alumni make a donation of $35 or more to any fund at the University, they automatically become a member of the alumni association. In fact, more than 100 alumni have each contributed $10,000 or more to CCU and have been granted an Alumni Association Lifetime Membership.  

Three scholarships are funded through the alumni association:

• CCU Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
• Will and Audrey Garland Alumni Board Endowed Scholarship
• and the Dr. Robert C. Elvington Alumni Board Endowed Scholarship.

Donations, fundraisers and alumni royalty programs all contribute to these endowments. During the last 10 years, these scholarships have provided more than 70 students roughly $70,000 in financial support.

The new Alumni Walk leading up the recently renovated Clark and Marcia Parker Atheneum Hall Alumni Center gives alumni and friends of the University the opportunity to have their names and messages engraved on special bricks, which are available for $250. Order your brick today!
