Message from the Executive Director of Alumni Relations at Coastal Carolina University
In the nearly 25 years since Coastal Carolina University became an independent university, it has excelled at the highest levels of academic and athletic success. Recently, we have experienced many firsts. From our unforgettable 2016 baseball national championship to our first Fulbright Scholar, CCU is an institution with firm roots yet an eye fixed toward the future. Coastal has been recognized as one of America’s top colleges (Forbes, 2015) and a Military Friendly School for eight consecutive years.
In alumni relations, we have seen a 20 percent increase in our graduate numbers in the last five years, bringing our total alumni population to nearly 31,000. The largest increase of graduates is the sciences with 200 more than just five years ago. Graduates live and work all over the world; our largest alumni areas outside of Horry and Georgetown counties are Columbia and Charleston, S.C., as well as Charlotte, N.C. CCU alumni are making an impact locally and globally – and we are here to celebrate you.
The Office of Alumni Relations connects alumni, supporters, and friends back to the University. Your involvement is key to the future success of Coastal Carolina University. Whether you are mentoring a student, providing an internship or hiring a graduate, cheering the Chants at an athletic event or giving back to an area of campus that you care about most – you will help shape the next 25 years through your efforts. I invite you to participate in I’M IN 2 – The Endowment Campaign for Coastal Carolina University, which will increase CCU’s endowment by an additional $20 million by 2023. This will provide access and resources for future generations of leaders, researchers, educators and artists.
Be sure that your contact information is up-to-date so we can stay in touch and invite you to campus and regional events. Visit us next time you are on campus. Spread the good news about CCU! There is no better time to be a Chanticleer!
Stay in touch –
