Candy Butler

There is nothing more gratifying than being a part of the Chanticleer family, one that cares about my achievements, and allows me to make my mark on the world."

"Attending college has always been a dream of mine, and making that dream a reality is now my passion. Everything I have been through in my life has prepared me for the bright future that lies ahead.  I am a junior at Coastal Carolina University, majoring in Hospitality, Resort, and Tourism Management with a minor in Marketing. I am so humbled and honored to receive the distinguished David L. Brittain Memorial Scholarship. The Wall College of Business provides me with the best professors, advisors, and other administrators to walk me through my journey, and as an upcoming senior, I have no doubt I will be prepared when I walk out of this prestigious institution."

"The unwavering support I received from everyone has inspired me to be a positive role model for future Chanticleers. After graduation, I will continue to represent CCU, with reverence and pride, humility and innovation, and admiration and inspiration. I implanted within myself a quote from the poet, Amanda Gorman: 'For there is always light if only we’re brave enough to see it.  If only we’re brave enough to be it.'”

"Since my first class, I was challenged and pushed past my comfort zone to accomplish more than I ever thought possible. During my time as a student at the Wall College, I was able to take advantage of so many opportunities for professional growth, such as becoming the co-chair of special events for Beta Gamma Sigma and becoming a member of both Eta Sigma Delta and Phi Eta Sigma. My professors encouraged and guided me on a path to success that I would not have found on my own. I am confident that when I graduate, I will be prepared to take the things I learned here and apply them to any position."
