Coastal Carolina University is committed to ensuring its facilities, programs, and services are accessible to everyone. Listed below are the available accommodations and resources for Commencement Weekend. If you require additional services or have questions, please contact Presidential Events and University Ceremonies, at 843-349-2517 or specialevents@coastal.edu, so that we can coordinate any accommodations needed. Our top priority is an enjoyable experience for all of our guests.
Student Requests
Students requiring accommodations for the University Commencement Ceremony and/or their College Recognition Ceremony should email graduation@coastal.edu.
Accessible Seating
Accessible seating will be available at both Brooks Stadium and the HTC Center and will be marked by blue and white tape. Due to high demand, patrons using accessible seating may have one companion accompany them in the accessible seating areas. As space permits, families and friends are welcome to sit near or behind individuals using accessible seating. However, it is important to note that accessible seating areas, like all commencement seating, are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Event staff will be available to assist guests with accessible seating before and during the ceremonies.
Accessible Parking and Mobility Assistance
Accessible parking for the University Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 2, at 6 p.m. will be located in the QQ lot next to Brooks Stadium. A handicap placard will be required to gain access to this lot. Campus Map »
Accessible parking for the College Recognition Ceremonies at the HTC Center will be located in the AA lot next to the HTC Center. A handicap placard will be required to gain access to this lot. Campus Map »
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs will not be available on campus; however, below is a list of local vendors who provide the following rental equipment: wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility devices. The prices and length of rentals vary and rentals may need to be picked up from the vendor. Please call the vendor directly to ensure accurate pricing and rental information.
