Academic and Community Outreach
Extending Coastal's excellence to students at every stage of education
The Office of Academic and Community Outreach serves the University through the coordination of programs designed to increase access to "learning for a lifetime." We draw upon the expertise of experienced community members and Coastal Carolina University faculty to offer innovative and comprehensive programming for all ages.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI@CCU) seeks to provide opportunities for adult, noncredit students to achieve intellectual stimulation as well as cultural and social growth. In addition to offering over three hundred classes per semester, OLLI@CCU sponsors over twenty clubs, a lecture series, and local, overnight, and international excursions. OLLI students have access to the Kimbel Library and campus parking permits, receive discounts to Coastal Carolina Cultural Arts Events and the University Bookstore, and enjoy numerous other benefits from OLLI’s community partners.
Coastal Carolina Kids Camps are offered each summer for children ages six to ten at both the Litchfield Education Center (14427 Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island) and the Conway Center (Burroughs & Chapin Building, 290 Allied Drive, Conway). In 2020, we will be partnering with Black Rocket to introduce exciting STEAM courses at both locations for children 8-10 in the mornings and children 11-13 in the afternoons
Continuing Education offers area businesses, civic organizations, non-profits, and other community groups the opportunity to request specially designed workshops, classes, or seminars geared toward their particular needs.
