Support for Ukraine

March 4, 2022

Dear fellow members of the CCU community,

In recent days, we have watched in shock as Russia launched an unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, upending the lives of millions of innocent citizens. The University condemns this unspeakable action. Images of the burgeoning humanitarian crisis caused by this senseless attack and destruction that we’ve witnessed have been deeply troubling to our campus, our nation, and the world.

Teal Nation includes students, faculty, staff, and alumni with close ties to Ukraine, Russia, and their bordering countries. They have loved ones who are likely in harm’s way. Our thoughts are with all of them and their families. The University’s Center for Global Engagement will continue to serve as a connection for members of our international community who are faced with uncertainty due to this tragic turn of events. For assistance, please email I encourage you to reach out to your friends and coworkers to check in on their emotional wellbeing and offer encouragement.

As a community of higher learning, let’s take this opportunity to examine and learn from this troubling time together. As we witness this tragedy, it is all the more important that we think and act in ways consistent with our University’s values of truth, respect, integrity, and excellence. We must collectively hope that a cessation of hostilities will happen soon and peace be restored to that region and our world.
