Presidential Ambassadors

Presidential Ambassadors serve and act as the official student hosts at presidential events and other University functions. This group of student leaders represents the University and the president, while working closely with the Office of the President and the Office of Special Events.

2022-2023 Presidential Ambassadors Biographies

There are currently 15 Presidential Ambassadors enrolled in the program. To learn more about the current ambassadors, review their biographies below. 

Teniia Brown is a junior Theatre B.A. major with a minor in Film and production. Throughout her life, she has been involved in numerous positions and organizations, all following the trend of serving others. Her main focus after three years at Coastal Carolina University is seeing the world through Art and advocating the boundaries for inclusivity being endless. She is also a Peer Mentor, a member of the Season Selection Committee, and a part of the Center for Inclusive Excellence-Fellowship! All of which allow her to venture out, travel, and assist communities through hands-on experience.

At CCU, her accomplishments include starring in two plays in the Discovery Series, and creating a productions series that displays black female playwrights; she has directed all plays within this series and plans to continue this in her senior year. She also plans on traveling to Hawai'i to research empathy through theatre.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is the great connection she has with all faculty and staff involved—they're inviting, and supportive in a way that makes time working with them too enjoyable to call work.

In her free time, she takes a great liking to social media, reading/writing, painting, and watching TV.

Addison "Addy" Clary is a member of Phi Sigma Pi, Eta Sigma Delta, Beta Gamma Sigma, Student Executive Leaders, American Sign Language Club, and the CINO Quest Program. She currently works for Ticketing and Patron Services at Wheelwright Auditorium as a House Manager and previously worked as an intern for a local event planner. She is also the Social Media Manager for the Presidential Ambassadors Instagram account. 

One accomplishment from her time at Coastal is being apart of Dr. Budner's research group, studying the fermentation of beverages.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and embroidering.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is the connections that she has made.

2022-2023 PAImari Jones is the President of both the Chi Omega Fraternity and TriBeta National Biological Honor Society on campus. She is also Parliamentarian of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and serves on the Student Leadership Board for the People Respecting Individual Diversity and Equality (PRIDE) club. She currently works as a Desk Assistant for University Housing.

Her greatest accomplishment at Coastal has been putting herself out there to take on as many opportunities as she can for personal growth and relationships, along with gaining the trust of her peers to hold such leadership roles in those organizations.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is getting the chance to interact with people of great importance to this University and meeting other students that are just as ambitious as me.

She loves spending her free time reading, watching movies, being spontaneous with friends, listening to podcasts, and taking care of the many plants she owns.

2022-2023 PAMeredith LaLumia is a student in the HTC Honors College, Honors Fellow, a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and a member of the 500lb club. She has previously worked as an environmental representative for Sustain Coastal, and in our campus’s greenhouse.

She plans to publish her individual case study on the “Territoriality of the Atlantic Ghost Crab, Ocypode quadrata, Based on Anthropogenic Impact of Private and Public Beaches” by the time she graduates. She has presented her work at multiple conferences on behalf of the University and have placed in or won at both conferences. In the Fall of 2022, she was selected to study abroad at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia, the world’s leading institution for marine science.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is representing the Office of the President and building connections with both Board of Trustee members and Coastal administration!

Her hobbies include photography, hiking, weightlifting, attending concerts, writing poetry, and archery.

2022-2023 PASaneywongse LeMar is a Teal Trailblazer with the Office of Admissions as well as an Information Specialist at CHANT411. She is involved with research through the Gupta College of Science. She is also a content creator for the Presidential Ambassadors Instagram account. 

She has made the Dean's list every semester.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is being able to connect with various campus partners who put so much work into all the events that happen around campus and being able to meet so many amazing people and build such strong connections.

Daysha Lindsay is a Lead Specialist at CHANT411. She is also part of the Rho Pi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She has been featured on #CCUFamily and has ben on the Dean's List.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is working the events. She is able to see all the behind the scenes work that make the events great. She also loves how being a Presidential Ambassador allows her to interact with faculty, staff, students, alumni and anyone interested in CCU.

Christian Livingston is an honors program student. She is currently studying Communication and Creative Writing. Apart from the Presidential Ambassadors, she serves as a Contributing Writer for the university’s chapter of Her Campus and works with CCU’s Athletic Marketing and Gameday Experience department.

Her biggest accomplishment at CCU is being inducted into the Wall Fellows Professional Development Program.

Her favorite part about being a Presidential Ambassador is working behind the scenes at important university events.

2022-2023 PACage Mitchell founded and ran the Physics and Engineering Club, worked as a tutor, learning assistant, research assistant, and lab assistant, studied abroad in Scotland, and landed an internship at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center studying effective methods to improve plant growth in space.

He has been named to the President’s List every semester, is a member of 4 honor societies and has received 13 scholarships. After graduation he plans to take a gap year before pursuing a Ph. D. in Environmental Engineering. During his gap year he will be working at CCU in the Physics and Engineering Science Department before embarking on a 5-month road trip in the Spring in he and his girlfriend’s converted camper van.

His favorite part of being a Presidential Ambassador is the ability to connect with members of the campus and community that he would otherwise not have access to.

2022-2023 PAMackenzie Sarne is a member of the HTC Honors College. She has been working as an Information Specialist at CHANT411 for two years. She currently serves as the President of the Theta Beta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi and is also a member of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology.

In her free time, she enjoys going on walks, shopping, watching movies/tv, listening to music, and hanging out with her friends!

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is getting to interact with the CCU community!

2022-2023 PAAnna Tingler is the President of Omicron Delta Kappa and the President of the Biochemistry and Chemistry Club.  She works as a general chemistry tutor and a general chemistry lab assistant.  She actively participates in research and has written her honor’s thesis.  The thesis is entitled, The Synthesis of Phidianidine Analogs Containing Modifications in the Indole, Aromatic and Biaryl Ring Systems, which was presented at the Undergraduate Research Competition and the American Chemical Society—South Carolina section meeting.

While at Coastal Carolina University, she was named to the President’s List and named Undergraduate of the Year for the Department of Chemistry.

Outside of school, she likes to spend time with friends and family, watching their favorite TV shows.  She also likes to travel and go to concerts.  Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is the opportunity to build connections and life-long mentors at such a wonderful University.

2022-2023 PAEmma Yacavone is involved with the Teal Trailblazers (campus tour guides), Peer Leaders for University Advising, Phi Sigma Pi, and the WCCU Radio Station. She is also a content creator for the Presidential Ambassador Instagram account.

Her favorite thing about being a Presidential Ambassador is that she's not only getting more involved on campus, but also more involved in the Coastal Carolina community. This position has presented her with more opportunities than she could have imagined.
