CINO Accelerate is a FREE two-semester, academic and leadership program designed to support incoming freshman at Coastal Carolina University both academically and personally. This immersion program supports students in their academic journey as they focus on successfully completing 30 credit hours in good academic standing and becoming an active participant in the Coastal community by the end of their first year at CCU. Students in the program will be assigned a personalized Success Team to include a Peer Leader, Academic Coaching Specialist, and Academic Advisor. Another goal of the program is to prepare students to meet the requirements to be invited into the National Society of Leadership and Success, which is the largest national organization in the country focusing on leadership.
CINO Accelerate students will also participate in a cohorted fall class schedule to include their UNIV-110C class. Students will have the opportunity to participate in personalized academic coaching, educational workshops, leadership programs, campus and community service projects, major and career exploration and unique campus and social engagement events.
As part of the UNIV-110CA curriculum, assignments are included to allow for students to interact with their peer leader and success team as well as participate in campus and community service projects, major and career exploration and unique campus and social engagement events. Outside of the class and as part of the CINO Accelerate program, opportunities are created specifically for students in the program to participate in educational workshops, leadership programs, additional campus and community service projects, and social engagement events, but those are optional and not mandatory.
