Hometown: Fair Lawn, N.J.

Professional experience:  I began my career working in New York City in the corporate world. After starting a family, I transitioned to the performing arts field as a dance instructor and nationally recognized competitive dance team coach. I also began my own event-planning business. When my children were older, I became a special education instructor, teaching in a self-contained classroom for children with autism, as well as doing in-home family behavior therapy sessions for families in crisis. In 2016, I received the Governor’s Educational Services Professional of the Year Award.

Hobbies/interests:  I always enjoy spending quality time with my family, friends, and my dog. I have danced most of my life and still love taking and teaching classes. I have a passion for live theater and seeing Broadway shows. I enjoy the outdoors and love to go to the beach or hiking in the mountains. I also enjoy cooking and baking, especially for special events.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?:  I would love to take a cruise to Alaska (it looks so beautiful), a safari in Africa (I absolutely love animals), and a tour of Europe.

Best concert you’ve ever attended or favorite movie or sports team?: My favorite concert and band will always be Bon Jovi (I will always be that 80s girl from N.J.).  I love movies of all genres, but my favorites are scary movies, comedies, action movies, and any movie with dance or a musical. Being a native of northern New Jersey and coming from a football family, my favorite sports team has to be big blue, the Giants.

What do you like most about working at CCU?:  I enjoy working in an educational atmosphere and love helping students achieve their dreams. It’s extra special for me to be able to see Coastal from a different perspective, as I was first a Coastal parent (my daughter graduated from the Honors College in 2020). It’s hard not to love this beautiful campus with such kind and welcoming staff and faculty.
