Education has always been a passion of mine, especially working with freshman students new to Coastal Carolina University. I love the energy that these young people bring to our community, and I want to encourage and support them as they become fully immersed in all things teal and bronze.

Kelly Parnell, M.Ed., began her career at Coastal Carolina University in 2016 in the former Office of Online Learning as an LMS Administrator, assisting faculty and students with “all things Moodle.” She also worked as the Digital Accessibility liaison to our faculty to ensure that all online content met ADA and WCAG compliance standards for online learning.   She now serves as a teaching associate for the Coastal Student Success Center and the Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Kelly moved to Myrtle Beach when her daughter, Samantha, was a student at Coastal Carolina University. Prior to moving to the beach, Kelly worked at both the Altoona and Hollidaysburg Area School Districts, where she also served on the Hollidaysburg Education Foundation Board of Directors. Kelly earned her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and a Certificate in Online Learning from Coastal Carolina University in 2019, and a B.S. in Business from Albright College in Reading, PA.

When she is not teaching, Kelly enjoys the beach, college sports (especially Coastal Football), and traveling as much as possible. She is a founding member of the Sideline Cancer youth initiative sponsored by the Griffith Family Foundation in Hollidaysburg, PA. and is currently active with the Junior League of the Grand Strand. Kelly has two daughters, Lindsay who lives in Richmond, Virginia, and Sammy, a 2020 graduate of CCU, who now serves as the university's coordinator of alumni engagement.
