Dr. Norris joined the Coastal Faculty in 2012. He worked for One Group Mutual Funds and JP Morgan Asset Management prior to entering academia. His research interests include state and federal judicial selection, gender and courts, court leadership, income inequality, and external political efficacy. Dr. Norris is a pre-law advisor. He coordinates the Moot Court team and is the faculty advisor for Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity. He also enjoys working closely with students to help them conduct their own research. Some of Dr. Norris’ research has been published in Canadian Journal of Political Science, Journal of Women, Politics & Policy, Judicature, Information Age Publishing, and ABC-CLIO Greenwood Press.

Interesting Facts 

In a previous life, Dr. Norris worked in financial management, and was a bass player in a jam band.

Norris was selected as a Marshall University’s Paul D. Stewart Distinguished Lecturer in Political Science for the 2015-16 academic year.
