The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” - Eleanor Roosevelt
Hailey Melton was born in Homestead, Fla., but considers herself a local, having lived in Conway for the last 25 years. She graduated from Carolina Forest High School (Go Panthers) and attended the University of South Carolina where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in public health in 2014. She was a University Ambassador (tour guide) all four years as an undergraduate student, which is where her passion for higher education was sparked. After graduation, she worked in the Admissions Office as a freshman admissions counselor recruiting students for her alma mater. In 2015 she moved back home to Conway and started her role in the Admissions Office here at CCU. She worked for two years as a freshman and transfer admissions counselor and her last two years in the office were spent as the assistant director of merit awards. Melton is most excited about being an academic advisor because it has made her journey in higher education come full circle. From giving tours to prospective students, to recruiting and aiding students in the admissions process, advising students as they pursue their dreams is the final piece that’s been missing. She loves to spend time with her husband, family and friends (in no particular order) whether it’s on a boat enjoying the outdoors or binge watching new and old shows on Netflix. She also enjoys cooking and college football.
