Biography
Dr. Daniel J. Ennis serves as Dean of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University. He is a former Co-Director of the Honors Program, and has served as Associate Dean of the Edwards College and as the Chair of the Department of English. He has long been active in student study abroad, and has helped lead students on trips to London, Oxford, Paris, Amsterdam, Heidelberg and Dublin.
As a scholar, his focus is British literature, and he has published books and articles on English authors. He has also published articles on academic administration and assessment. Since coming to Coastal in 1999, he has taught composition, literature surveys, graduate classes in literature and culture, and the First Year Experience.
As Dean he has placed special emphasis on experiential learning, and promoted programs that bring the humanities and arts into the world though research, practice, and project-based instruction.
