Mary Wilkerson's vita

Mary Wilkerson, Ph.D., has been with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics since 2012.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics education and psychology in 2007, and a Ph.D. in mathematics in 2012, all from Virginia Tech. Her primary field of study is complex dynamics. Typical research interests of hers involve using discrete techniques (e.g., finite subdivision rules and circle packings) to model holomorphic maps.

Her teaching interests center on courses with analysis-based content, like calculus and complex variables. Wilkerson is a Project NExT (New Experience in Teaching) fellow and has participated in the AMS Mathematical Research Communities program on complex dynamics. She is the current coordinator of the Coastal Carolina University High School Math Contest and a member of the Safe Zone LGBTQIA+ Ally Network at CCU.
