The Career Services department at Coastal Carolina University is hosting a free Virtual Career Fair for CCU students and alumni through CareerEco, a virtual career fair company, on April 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those seeking internships or jobs are encouraged to attend the virtual event using this link.

Some of the participating employers include:

- AmeriCorps/FEMA

- State Farm (event sponsor)

- Sherwin-Williams (event sponsor)

- ALKU

- Capgemini

- Hilton Worldwide

- Insight Global

- Liberty Healthcare

- New York Life

- U.S. Customs and Border Protection

- Vanguard

- Waccamaw Publishers

- Washington Internship Institute

- WFXB

The virtual fair has room for up to 50 employers, including nonprofit organizations. Companies interested in participating in the fair can register here; the participation fee for nonprofits is $100 and the corporate fee is $200.

"The partnership with CareerEco provides CCU students access to other career fairs that are open nationwide, as well as access to employers who may not have engaged with our campus in the past," said Verne Walker, director of Career Services. "The CareerEco platform will allow students and alumni to interact with employers while viewing presentations, engaging in group and individual employment-related chats, and participating in potential video interviews."

The number of students and alumni who can participate is unlimited, said Walker. Junior finance major Bryan Perry is already registered for the event because he is searching for positions at investment corporations.

"I'm interested in interacting with Sherwin-Williams to learn more about their opportunities," Perry said. "I'm interested to see how many people will be attempting to engage with these organizations during the virtual fair."

Heather Read is the graduate programs manager for the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at CCU. She is registered for the event as an employer.

"The virtual career fair gives our graduate programs an opportunity to be featured to students who are considering their career options after completing a bachelor's degree," said Read. "Graduating seniors might find that now is actually a good time to continue to invest in their education and enroll in the MBA or Master of Accountancy program to improve their resume and skills."

Career Services team members continue to serve students and alumni via virtual appointments, workshops, events, and social media engagement to assist them as they prepare for the career fair and continue on their career and graduate school journeys.

Career Services is also providing career counseling, college major consultations, help with resume and cover letter development, mock interviews, and interview preparation, and all CCU students and alumni have access to online resources like Handshake, CareerShift, and Big Interview.

CCU students and alumni can call 843-349-2341 or email career@coastal.edu to schedule an online appointment between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Visit coastal.edu/career for more information.
