Student-run WCCU radio typically operates out of Brittain Hall on Coastal Carolina University's campus. When activity was shifted away from the campus, however, WCCU was forced out of its studio. Now it carries on, with operations centered out of its station manager J.P. Kinney's living room, with other contributors scattered around the country.

The station offers experiential learning in several aspects of broadcasting including entertainment, programming, marketing, and on-air performance. Students create and broadcast their own shows under the guidance and supervision of experienced student managers and faculty advisor Jeff Ranta, Ph.D.
