Swain Scholars Program
About Kenneth E. Swain
The late Myrtle Beach pharmacist, realtor and environmentalist Kenneth E. Swain made a substantial gift to CCU in 2008 that established the Swain Scholars Program, which awards annual $5,000 scholarships for students to conduct research and outreach projects related to health sciences, an area of particular interest to Swain.
In addition, his generousity also supported the construction of Kenneth E. Swain Science Hall. Officially dedicated in August 2013, the building houses CCU's health sciences along with enhanced classrooms and labs that allow research in biochemistry and molecular biology, including DNA technology.
