Renting Doctoral Regalia
Rental doctoral regalia orders must be placed online through Oak Hall by Friday, Mar. 1, to arrive in time for the April 20, Hooding Ceremony. Rental doctoral regalia must be returned to the Chanticleer Bookstore by May 17.

Master's Regalia
Master's regalia must be purchased online by Sunday, March 31. After March 31, master’s regalia must be purchased at the Chanticleer Bookstore (all sizes cannot be guaranteed to be in stock at the Bookstore).

Bachelor's Regalia
Bachelor's regalia must be purchased online by Sunday, March 31. After March 31, bachelor’s regalia must be purchased at the Chanticleer Bookstore (all sizes cannot be guaranteed to be in stock at the Bookstore).

Academic Honor Stole
The academic honor stole is a white satin stole that bears the University seal on one side and your Latin academic honors or program recognitions in script on the other side. Both the seal and script are custom embroidered. To be eligible to wear an academic honor stole for commencement you must have earned a minimum 3.50 GPA, have completed at least 45 hours of college coursework at CCU, and be graduating with a Bachelor's degree (Graduate students are not eligible for Latin Academic Honors). Students who are members of the following programs may also be eligible to receive an honor stole: Dyer Fellow, HTC Honors College Program Graduate, Jackson Scholar, Swain Scholar, Teaching Fellow, or Wall Fellow.
Latin Academic Honors
summa cum laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.95 or higher
magna cum laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.75 - 3.949
cum laude: a cumulative GPA of 3.5 - 3.74
Please note: Honors that are recognized at commencement ceremonies are based upon the student’s cumulative grade point average available at the beginning of the semester of graduation. Actual graduation with honors is calculated after the final semester’s grades have been received and certified and will be indicated on the diploma and official transcript. Honor stoles may not be exchanged if Latin Honors change after final grade processing. For more information about graduating with honors, view the 2023-24 Undergraduate Catalog.
All students eligible to wear an academic honor stole at commencement will receive an email, from the Office of the Registrar, notifying them of eligibility along with instructions on how to purchase a stole. If a student did not receive an email and believes that they might be eligible, please email graduation@coastal.edu.
Veteran or Service Member Stole and Recognition in the Program
Students who are veterans or service members of the U.S. Military may have their branch of service (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, or Coast Guard) noted in the program. These categories may include veteran, active duty, retired, National Guard, or Reserve. Veteran and service member stoles are also available through Military and Veteran Services.
