Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Contest
The Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Contest is a biannual (once each academic semester) poetry competition. Each term, Coastal Carolina University undergraduate students have the opportunity to enter the contest. The poems are read (without names or other identifying characteristics) by a nationally-renowned outside judge. The winner receives $100 and several copies of the broadside.
Although there is no restriction concerning subject, style, or form, poems must be 40 or fewer lines. Previous winners of the contest are ineligible. A list of guidelines and dates for submission will be distributed each semester.
The contest is named in honor and memory of Paul Rice who taught in the English Department from 1987-2004.
