August 22: 2023 FLP Program Leader Meet & Greet, Opportunity for 2023 program leaders to meet one another 

August 24: Maymester program launch, 2023 FLPs open for application  

August 26: Announcement of Passport Event, Opening of Passport Application grant program 

August 31: Ice Cream Social, Social event for study abroad returnees, program leaders, and international students; awarding of photo contest winners

Education Abroad

September 1: FLP Program Leader Training: Inclusive Excellence in Education Abroad, Introduction for upcoming program leaders on creating a sense of place while recruiting and once students are on their program. 

September 7: Study Abroad Expo, Opportunity to see various study and intern abroad opportunities. 

September 12: Workshop: Creating a faculty-led program, Introduction to the proposal process for faculty-led study abroad programs. 

September 15: FLP Program Leader Training: Financial Matters, Training for upcoming program leaders to learn about cash advances, travel cards, contracts, payments, and more. 

September 21: Study Abroad Financial Planning, Introduction to financial aid, scholarships, and budgeting for study abroad  

September 29: FLP Program Leader Training: Risk Mitigation, Training for upcoming program leaders of factors to consider in regards to safety and security abroad. 

CGE Professional Development Training Offerings 

September 27: Hosting International Scholars and Lecturers 

Session Description: CCU offers the opportunity to bring collaborating scholars from around the world to participate in the research, teaching, and programming on campus through our International Visiting Scholar and International Visiting Lecturer programs.  This session will explain the difference and share steps you can take to host these colleagues as a part of bringing the world to CCU! 

September 29: Developing International Partnerships 

Session Description: This workshop will explore the things to consider when looking to develop a partnership with an institution outside the USA, the steps to be taken to bring the partnership to fruition, and considerations to make for long-term success and evaluation of these partnerships.

October 6: Developing Faculty Travel with Students for Research/Competition/Conferences 

Session Description: In addition to Faculty-led Education Abroad Programs that are on a yearly cycle, opportunities for students to participate in research, present at conferences, or compete at given events around the world in cooperation with faculty occur.  To accommodate such opportunities, we have developed the Faculty/Staff Travel with Students for Research, Competition, or Conferences Program.  Come to learn about key considerations of these programs, expectations development, and program planning.
