Coastal Carolina University continues to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation which continues to evolve. According to the Centers for Disease Control, COVID-19 is primarily spread from person to person. You can become infected by 1) coming into close contact (about 6 feet or two arm lengths) with a person who has COVID-19, 2) from respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, 3) from touching a surface or object that has the virus on it, and then by touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
Covering your mouth and nose is the single best thing you can do to reduce the viral spread. Face coverings properly worn are a top priority.
All students, faculty, staff and visitors must wear a face covering/mask that properly covers their nose and mouth upon entering the health center and while inside the health center.
Prior to arriving to Student Health Services (SHS), you are required to call and schedule an appointment for both sick and well visits. Please be prepared to answer a series of questions when you call and when you arrive. Also, be prepared to have your temperature checked prior to entering SHS; Lastly, please bring your telephone/mobile device and charger with you to SHS; your telephone/mobile device will be helpful during the check-in process.
