About Us
This collection of equipment was assembled to provide resources for students, faculty, and staff in the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts for use for courses and other College projects. The Cage stores a large variety of equipment including cameras, camcorders, and microphones.
The John Cage will be closed as of 4/30/24.

The Cage is closed on all University and Student Holidays. When the Cage is closed, you may return the equipment to the Kimbel Circulation Desk to avoid late charges.
Any day-of changes to the schedule will be posted on the Cage door.
Monday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Wednesday: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: Closed
To Make an Appointment
No appointment is necessary to check out or return equipment during our open office hours; however, we have wider availability by appointment.

Note that we require 24 hours lead time for appointments to ensure that the equipment is available and ready for your use. Please bring your CINO Card to the appointment.

The Kimbel Library also has equipment available to check out for all CCU students, faculty, and staff.
Borrowing Equipment
Equipment can be checked out and returned during open hours and by appointment. In general, the equipment is loaned out over a two-day (48-hour) period. Equipment can also be returned to the Kimbel Library circulation desk.
To check out equipment, please make sure to:
- Sign the Equipment Liability Form
- Bring your CINO Card
Late Fees
Equipment that is late will result in a $5/day late fee that will be assessed to your student account. You will not be able to check out equipment until you pay your late fee.
Missing, Lost, or Damaged Equipment
All items must be returned with all accessories listed on the label. If an accessory is missing, your account will be assessed a late fee according to the item lost (up to $250). Likewise, damaged and lost equipment will be assessed a repair or replacement fee (up to $5,000). Lost or damaged equipment will also result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.
