Coastal Carolina earns marketing awards, ADDYs

Coastal Carolina University has won three regional marketing awards, several local ADDYs and two student ADDYs, including one for Best in Show for its student literary magazine, Archarios. The ADDYs were presented by the Coastal Advertising and Marketing Professionals (CAMP).

Three regional awards were presented to Coastal’s Office of Marketing Communications for a magazine advertisement, a brochure and a magazine article layout. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) made the awards at the recent district conference in Atlanta.

Awards of excellence were presented for: a magazine advertisement, “One of Our Toughest Courses” (Rob Wyeth, art director; Bill Edmunds, photographer; the brochure 2004 Coastal Carolina University Cultural Calendar (Rob Wyeth, art director; Mona Prufer, copywriter) and a magazine article layout, “Public Engagement” (Doug Bell, editor; Jason Hughes, graphic designer; Bill Edmunds, photographer).

ADDY awards included, in the category Advertising for the Arts & Sciences, a gold ADDY for the cultural arts brochure; in the Collateral Material category, a gold addy for the 2004 Coastal Christmas card (designer Rob Wyeth) and a silver ADDY for the CCU cultural brochure.

A gold ST-ADDY (student ADDY) went to Coastal for Best in Show for the 2004 literary arts magazine Archarios, edited by Jason Fishel, with assistant editor Doug Greene, art director Byron Philbrook, assistant art dicectors Megan Newett and Brad Buckley. Professors Paul Olsen and Nelljean Rice were faculty advisers for the student publication.

A silvery ST-ADDY was presented to Coastal student Janelle Riolo for a class project she did on “Dining with Friends” in the graphic design class taught by Wyeth.
