Registration, open houses set for CCUs Lifelong Learning

September 19, 2005

Two more open houses remain for Coastal Carolina Universitys higher education centers in Litchfield and Georgetown, and registration is still under way for many fall noncredit courses that begin in October as part of the Lifelong Learning program.

Open houses and orientation sessions are designed to give participants the opportunity to meet the instructors and learn more about classes. The first will be on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Waccamaw Higher Education Center, 160 Willbrook Blvd. in Litchfield. Call 349-4030.

The Georgetown Higher Education Center will have its open house on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. The center is located in the Georgetown Shopping Plaza on North Fraser Street (also U.S. 701), next to Peebles. Call 546-7523.

During the day and evening hours, the Division of Academic Outreach at Coastal is offering more than 175 Lifelong Learning courses, which include subjects such as art and photography, computer technology, foreign languages, history and government, literature and writing, music, theater and film, personal growth and skills, religion and philosophy, and science and nature.

Courses begin in Georgetown and Waccamaw in early October. To receive a copy of the catalog, call or visit any of the centers prior to the Open House. Course descriptions are also available on the Web site at www.coastal.edu/outreach.
