Coastal's art gallery announces upcoming exhibits

The Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery of Coastal Carolina University has announced its schedule of exhibitions through August 2007. Upcoming exhibits include:

"Self-Taught : Six African-American Vernacular Artists of the South"

Jan. 11 to Feb. 8, 2007

Opening: Thursday, Jan. 11, 5 to 7 p.m.

Paintings, drawings and sculpture by Mose Tolliver, Bessie Harvey, Jim Sudduth, Purvis Young, Mary T. Smith and Thornton Dial

"The Art of Rabbit Ears: Contemporary American Children's Book Illustration"

Feb. 13 to March 22

Opening: Thursday, Feb. 22, 5 to 7 p.m.

Original children's book illustrations, storyboard drawings and videos from the Rabbit Ears Entertainment collection

"Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition"

March 29 to April 19

Opening: Thursday, March 29, 5 to 7 p.m.

New work by Department of Visual Arts faculty
