CCU presents percussion ensemble

Coastal Carolina University students will present a concert featuring a variety of percussion ensembles on Monday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. General admission is $8, and admission for alumni and senior citizens is $6. Coastal students, faculty and staff are allowed free tickets with a CCU ID.

Featured ensembles include the Coastal Taiko group, the CCU Pop-percussion Ensemble, CATALYST Percussion Group, African Drum and Dance, and the CCU "Grand Strand Pans" Steel Band.

The bands are under direction of Kurry Seymour, director of percussion studies and Coastal's assistant band director, who earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in music and percussion performance from West Virginia University. Seymour teaches the percussion studio and ensembles, percussion methods, the Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band Drumline and the CCU Pep Band.

Tickets for the performance must be picked up from Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or 90 minutes prior to the show. For more information, call 349-2502.
