Coastal gets approval for campus renovations

October 1, 2007

Coastal Carolina University recently received approval from the S.C. Budget and Control Board for two of its projects.

One is for $2,340,480 to expand and renovate the Lib Jackson Student Center. University administrators said 4,200 square feet of new construction will be added to the back of the building for a new kitchen/serving area, which will result in more food offerings for students and approximately 90 more seats in the dining area.

Upgrades will also be made to the building's mechanical systems, to include a sprinkler system and modifications involving office and student spaces.

The other CCU project is for $2,025,000 for necessary renovations and repairs to improve the functionality of the Science Building.
