Coastal Carolina University professor Julinna Oxley will give a talk on "Aging Well or Just Growing Old?: The Ethics of Aging" on Wednesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. at Coastal's Waccamaw Higher Education Center in Litchfield. The discussion is free and open to the public.

This is the fifth event in CCU's "I'm Glad You Asked" dialogue series, sponsored by the Board of Visitors of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

The talk will address ethical issues relating to aging, such as familial responsibilities, the rights of the elderly and health care.

Oxley, assistant professor of philosophy and religion, earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and English literature from Wheaton College in Illinois, a master's degree in philosophy from Boston College and a doctorate from Tulane University. Her area of specialty is ethics and feminist philosophy. She was a managing editor for the journal "Politics, Philosophy and Economics" and joined Coastal's faculty in 2006.

Coastal's Waccamaw Higher Education Center is located off of U.S. 17 at 160 Willbrook Blvd. behind the Hampton Inn in Litchfield.
