Coastal Carolina University hosts public discussion on Palestine

Coastal Carolina University will host a talk by independent journalist and blogger Naji Ali titled "Palestine in the Middle East Crisis" on Thursday, April 10 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Room 256. The event is free and open to the public.

Ali will talk about his experience working in Palestine as well as issues related to peace in the Middle East. Questions and further discussion will follow.

Formerly Christopher Brown, Ali produces a weekly podcast titled "Crossing the Line: Life in Occupied Palestine." In 1990 he was arrested in South Africa where he was detained and tortured for nearly two years by the South African secret police. Ali also lived and worked in the Old City of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. He now lives in San Francisco.

The Globalist Club and the Department of Politics and Geography at CCU are sponsoring program.
