Boston Brass to perform at Coastal Carolina University

Boston Brass, a world-renowned brass quintet, will perform in Coastal Carolina University's Wheelwright Auditorium on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 to $25 general admission; $10 for Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Technical College students, faculty and staff; $5 discount for alumni and seniors; $5 discount for teens (ages 11 to 17) and children (10 and under).

The Boston Brass quintet has earned worldwide critical acclaim for its precision performances and brilliant showmanship. Ensemble members interact with each other and with the audience for an evening of boisterous good fun and breathtaking music.

Many of the selections were arranged by the group's French horn player, J.D. Shaw. Other group members include Jeff Conner on trumpet, Lance LaDuke on trombone and euphonium, Jose Sibaja on trumpet and Andrew Hitz on tuba.

Boston Brass has performed at jazz festivals around the world and conducted master classes at colleges and universities across the country. The ensemble has been featured on "The CBS Early Show," National Public Radio's "Performance Today," The Great American Brass Band Festival and has recorded several ground breaking albums including "Stealing the Show," a collection of overtures and arias; "Young Fogeys," a collage of jazz and swing favorites; and "Out of This World," featuring heroic music for brass and organ.
