Coastal Carolina University presents Art Songs and Arias

Coastal Carolina University will present "An Evening of Art Songs and Arias" on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall in the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts, featuring Brown Bradley, tenor, and Philip Powell, piano. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.

The program will feature a recital of opera arias and art songs by Rachmaninoff, Schubert and Donizetti, as well as American composers.

Bradley, director of music and fine arts at First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Myrtle Beach and founder of the award-winning FPC Concert Series, has performed as a tenor soloist with the Charleston Symphony Chamber Orchestra, the Long Bay Symphony, the Florence Symphony and Master Chorale, the St. Michael's Chorale, and the Bach Chorale of Wilmington, N.C.

Powell, professor of music at Coastal Carolina University, has preformed as a soloist with the Long Bay Symphony and served as president of the Coastal Concert Association, music director of the Festival of Music and Art at Pawleys Island, and founding director of the Musicale de Geneve series.
