Saxophone Ensemble to perform at Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina University's Saxophone Ensemble will present a concert on Monday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will include a mix of classical, jazz, blues and popular melodies performed exclusively on saxophones. The program features a variety of songs, including "Beale Street Blues," "Shish-K-Bop," "Ronde Des Princesses," "Flatjack Willie," "The Kid" and "La Paloma."

The saxophone ensemble consists of five Coastal Carolina University students including Michelle Loscalzo, Josh Maxwell, Jessica Mills, Dan Vigo and Stephen Dinda.

Dan O'Reilly, instructor of music at Coastal Carolina University, is the director of the group. He has extensive performing experience both in New York City and along the Grand Strand at venues such as the House of Blues, Broadway at the Beach, the Palace Theatre and Brookgreen Gardens. O'Reilly directs the University's Jazz After Hours Big Band, the After Hours Improvisation Combo, the Saxophone Ensemble and POP 101, a contemporary music ensemble.
