Na Fidleiri, a group of Charleston area youths who play Irish fiddle music, will perform Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The group, founded and directed by Mary Taylor, features 25 musicians between 10 and 18 years of age.

Tickets are available at the Wheelwright Box Office weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Prices are $25 first floor rows A-M; $20 first floor rows N-S and balcony; alumni, senior citizens and children (ages 11 to 17) are discounted $5; $10 for Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College students, faculty and staff; children10 and under, $10 and must be accompanied by an adult.

"Na Fidleiri" means "The Fiddlers" in Irish. Composed of violins, a pennywhistle, bodhran and guitar, the group has earned wide acclaim for its performances. With a repertoire of more than 50 songs, primarily Irish in origin, the ensemble performs entirely from memory with traditional accompaniment.

The group has been featured at the Augusta Irish Festival, Savannah Irish Festival, South Carolina State Fair, the International Festival at Francis Marion College and as a headliner with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.

As part of the Taylor Music Group, Na Fidleiri is dedicated to preserving the rich legacy of Celtic music through the education and training of young musicians in the Charleston community. The group performs at the Taylor Music Festival, a series of Celtic and classical educational workshops held each year in Charleston.
