A softball game in support of a fundraising project will pit the Department of English against the Academic Center at 5 p.m. Friday, April 3 on Intramural Field no. 6 on the Coastal Carolina University campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The second annual Paul Rice Poetry Broadside Fundraiser Softball Game will involve the members of Sigma Tau Delta, the English department, faculty and students against the Academic Center faculty, staff and students to raise money to support the poetry contest named in honor of the late professor Paul Rice, a poet, songwriter and columnist, who died in 2004.

Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, received a grant from the national organization to support the game.

Participation fees are $5 for faculty and staff, $3 for students and children. There is no charge to watch the game, but donations are encouraged. For more information, contact Rose Barra at 843-349-2744.
