Wildfires no threat to Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina University is not threatened by wildfires, and classes continue as regularly scheduled. Updates will be posted as necessary.

There have been no reports of injuries due to the fires, and the Conway campus appears to be in no danger.

Some students, faculty and staff have been affected by road closings and evacuations, and professors have been asked to be flexible in attendance and late-entrance policies.

Shelters are open at the House of Blues and the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic Center. If any member of the University community is in need of shelter, call the Office of Student Affairs at 843-349-2302.

Horry County has opened the Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center as of 8 a.m. this morning. In addition, a call center (843-915-5150) has been opened to address citizen concerns and questions.
