CCU Flute Studio to present spring recital

Coastal Carolina University Flute Studio will perform a spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20 in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. General admission is $3; children 10 and under are admitted free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

The first half of the recital will include performances of significant unaccompanied solos in the flute repertoire by composers such as J.S. Bach, Arthur Honegger, Edgard Varese, Claude Debussy and Katherine Hoover. Amy Hardison Tully, assistant professor of music, directs the Flute Studio.

The second half of the recital will feature the University’s flute choir with works by Philippe Gaubert, Christopher Caliendo and J.S. Bach. The Flute Choir is a musical ensemble comprising five members of the flute family: the piccolo, Eb flute, C flute, alto flute and bass flute.

Members of the CCU Flute Studio include Doris Glass, Victoria Panos, Rachel Pedersen, Trey Pittman, Allie Tanner, Leanne Smith, Kim Welch and Lindsay Walter. Members of the CCU Flute Choir include Rebecca Newton, Maggie Morgan, Victoria Panos, Rachel Pedersen, Leanne Smith and Kimberly Welch.
