CCU bands to perform spring concert
Coastal Winds, directed by James L. Tully, associate professor of music and director of bands, is comprised of students of all majors performing a varied repertoire. This auditioned ensemble features 25 of the best University players on brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. The Coastal Winds will be performing works by Mozart and David Gillingham.
The Symphonic Band, also directed by Tully, has been the mainstay of the concert band program at the University since its inception in 2001. This ensemble has played two world premieres and has performed with some of the genre’s finest wind band conductors and soloists. The Symphonic Band will present music featuring its percussion section, including the world-famous “Radetzky March” by Johann Strauss.
