Jazz After Hours concert scheduled at CCU

Coastal Carolina University’s Jazz After Hours will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15 in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The concert will feature music performed in the big band style, and CCU student jazz musicians will perform in small and large combos. Featured works will include “It Don’t Mean a Thing if It Ain’t got that Swing” by Duke Ellington, “Night Train” by Jimmy Forrest, “Caravan” by Juan Tizol, “In a Sentimental Mood” by Ellington, and more.

The Jazz After Hours, directed by Dan O’Reilly of CCU music faculty, is the University’s student-musician jazz ensemble. Jazz After Hours specializes in American forms of music, covering musical styles from the 1940s to the present. The group performs semi-annual concerts that feature guest artists and soloists.

General admission is $9; alumni, senior citizens (65+) and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute member admission is $7; teens (11 to 17) are $3; and children are admitted free but must be accompanied by an adult.
