CCU’s Inspirational Ambassadors to sing seasonal concert

November 30, 2010

Coastal Carolina University’s Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors gospel choir will give the gift of music during its seasonal gospel concert at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The 80-member gospel choir, directed by David Manigo, will harmonize a seasonal lineup of songs, including “Oh Give Thanks” and “Moving Forward” by Hezekiah Walker, “I Will Bless the Lord” by Byron Cage, “Emmanuel” by Norman Hutchinson and “Carol of the Bells.”

The mission of the Inspirational Ambassadors is to offer positive and inspiring gospel music programs that perpetuate the tradition of gospel music. It also strives to raise awareness of the importance of gospel in the preservation of African-American history. The choir, directed by David Manigo, performs on campus and at events across the region. In 2005, the choir placed first at the Black Family Expo College Gospel Choir Competition in Florence.

The concert is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets may be picked up at the Wheelwright Box Office 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or prior to the performance. For more information, call 843-349-2502.
