CCU announces new director of annual giving

Carlos D. Baxley has been named the director of annual giving in the Office of Philanthropy at Coastal Carolina University.

His duties will include supervising the day-to-day operations of the Phonathon program; coordinating student and parent philanthropic programs; coordinating faculty and staff campaigns; serving as liaison to the Alumni Relations and Student Affairs departments; and assisting with setting and achieving fundraising goals.

“Carlos brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with a successful track record in annual giving in both a university and private sector environment,” says Lawson Holland, interim vice president for philanthropy. “His energy and passion will create enthusiasm among our staff, faculty, students and constituents.”

Baxley comes to CCU from the University of Cincinnati as assistant director of development. He also has five years of experience in fundraising with the American Red Cross in Ohio. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from Francis Marion University.
