CCU’s Saxophone Ensemble Concert is Nov. 28

Coastal Carolina University’s Saxophone Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

The Saxophone Ensemble, directed by Dan O’Reilly, consists of CCU students Jon Miller, Jacqui King and T.J. Matthews. The ensemble will be joined by additional CCU students Hailey Long (bass guitar), Curtis McDonald (electric guitar) and Mark Kendree (drums).

Classical, jazz, pop and Broadway music composed for the saxophone will be featured, including songs “Blue Trane” by John Coltrane, “And I Love Her” by the Beatles, “Ornithology” by Charlie Parker and “Petite Fleur” by Sidney Bechet.

General admission is $3; children 10 and under are admitted free. CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students receive one free ticket per valid ID. CCU and HGTC faculty and staff receive two free tickets per valid ID.
