CCU hosts HIV awareness event

In recognition of World AIDS Day 2011, Coastal Carolina University, Careteam and the South Carolina Campaign To Prevent Teen Pregnancy present “Positively Infected” on Friday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Wall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

“Positively Infected” is a live production incorporating literature, dance, skits and other expressive arts to promote HIV awareness and education. The production is written and directed by Nykieria Chaney and is performed by Cre8ive NSights, a literary and performing arts group active in HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.

Door prizes will be handed out, and light refreshments will be served. While the event is free, donations for Careteam Inc.—a local nonprofit organization dedicated to HIV prevention—will be accepted.
