We are deeply concerned and disturbed by the national tragedy which is unfolding before our eyes. President Ingle is traveling out of state, but he has been in contact with us. In reviewing the impact of these events on our academic community, we have decided that the best course of action will be to allow classes to continue to meet and university offices to remain open. All faculty are asked to exercise special sensitivity and make appropriate adjustments and allowances for attendance and assignments. Therefore, it is our expectation that students will be allowed to make up missed work without penalty.

As a special service for students and the entire campus community, a panel of faculty and others who are knowledgeable concerning global concerns will be engaged in continuous discussion, in small groups or one-on-one, in Room 256 of the Edwards Humanities and Fine Arts Building from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Faculty are asked to encourage students to attend this session if they wish, and administrative supervisors are asked to make arrangements for employees to attend as they desire.

Individual student counseling is available in the Office of Counseling Services on 204 University Boulevard, telephone 2315. For students in the residence halls, counselors will be available through the Office of Residence Life.
